This was such a fun book. The small town of Leppington is just like any other small town. People live and die like normal, go to work at the local slaughterhouse as normal; everything is "normal". But, like many of the small towns we get the pleasure to read about, Leppington has a secret! An ancient secret, something hidden underneath the town (or should I say somethingS). When Dr. David Leppington, the prodigal son, returns after years of absence, the trouble starts. It is the forseen time for the town's secret to come full force. A force to be reckoned with. For this secret is one that could destroy the town of Leppington, as a matter of fact, the whole world!
I really enjoyed my first experience with Simon Clark. Now I can't wait to get my hands on his other works. He is good at building the suspense and keeping you wondering what is going to happen next, without getting the reader too involved: just enough to scare the hell out of you!
