Imagine, if you will, a story complete with witches, vampires, werewolves, fairies, immortal beings, dinosaurs, bounty hunters, and a talking cat. Throw in the threat of the end of the world as we know it, lots and lots of explosions, and just a little bit of sex, and what do you have? Why, you have “Black Moon” by S.J. Gaither and Michael Canada!

This novel is so wonderfully written!  I was captivated from page one all the way to the end. There is quite a high volume of characters thrown in, and the authors miraculously make it work without confusing the reader. The characters are so rich and fun, the names are even more so.

This story is about an “adventure” of sorts experienced by Poppy Z., a witch.  She is approached by an old acquaintance, an immortal turned mortal somehow. This ex-immortal, Romo, is in some serious trouble, and turns to the only person he knows can help him, Poppy. You see, Romo is anything but a nice person, and now that he is a mere mortal, he has a lot of beings after him. Vampires and werewolves are out to get Romo for all the things he has done to them throughout time. Worse than those, Romo has the embodiment of evil, Halloween Jack after him now as well.  In the span of two days, Romo, Poppy, her talking cat Midnight, and a host of other strange creatures must fight for their very lives, and the lives of everyone on Earth.

I highly recommend this novel! It’s very fast paced, witty, and oh so entertaining. I do know that Gaither and Canada are currently working on another Poppy Z novel, and cannot wait until it is finished!! I want more more more of the Witching Moon Series!
